LUMS will be hosting the Alumni Annual Homecoming on Saturday December 15, 2007. The alumni abroad come to Pakistan typically in the dates between Dec 15th and Jan 15th. Last year (2006) the homecoming was in November and most of the alumni abroad missed it. LUMS had to host a separate (small) event for them. This year the homecoming date is EXACTLY on Dec 15th. Most of the folks will land in Pakistan on or slightly after Dec 15th.

LUMS side of the story is that keeping the homecoming in December provides a lot of operational problems (wedding season, internal clash with convocation) and this year Eid complicated things as well. Lame?

Update (Dec 2008): LUMS actually moved the homecoming to Dec 20th this year. Hope they learned their lesson for good and will stick to this date now.
